Since first announcing her collaboration with adidas for the new IVY PARK release back in spring 2019, Beyonce’s fans have anxiously awaited the official launch of the adidas x IVY PARK collection.

Now, the long wait is over. The highly anticipated collection of gender-neutral, orange and maroon clothing, shoes, and accessories officially dropped this weekend, becoming available online and in stores—and creating a fan frenzy that’s “breaking the internet.” According to CNN, “the #IvyParkXAdidas hashtag made it to at least #3 on Twitter’s top 10 trending topics in the United States during the day.” And the entire collection sold out within hours of going live online.

Beyonce’s Marketing Genius

Over the last week, Beyonce’s hype-building marketing strategies have been nothing short of genius. Using an approach that FastCompany called an “awakening,” the superstar “rolled out sneak peeks of the new product line through stunning photos to her 138 million Instagram followers, a brand video to her 20 million YouTube followers, and giant orange trunks full of goods to celebrity pals like Ellen and Reese Witherspoon to create their own unboxing videos.”

We’re especially proud that Beyonce chose Rhino to make her famed wardrobe trunks, which were specially designed and handcrafted in Rochester, New York. Fans went crazy for Beyonce’s presentation, and her wardrobe trunk video garnered more than 4.5 million views.

“Flyest unboxing content I’ve ever seen! You’re the Queen of everything,” one fan commented.

Another said, “Best promo packaging we have seen so far in a while. Love the concept.”

Tagging a friend in a comment, a fan said, “I want this [trunk] for luggage.” The friend replied, “I want it as a home.”

And one of our personal favorites said, “This [trunk] is bigger than my current closet! Even has a drawer. The queen is practical!”

In the Hands of Celebrities

Social media was colored vibrant orange and maroon this week, as Rhino Wardrobe Trunks full of coveted items from Beyonce’s new collection made it to the homes of such celebrities as Issa Rae, Diplo, Janelle Monae, Eniko Hart, Keke Palmer, Missy Elliott, Lala Anthony, June Ambrose, Michael B. Jordan, Anderson Paak, Swizz Beatz, and Summer Hope Chamblin. Each celebrity posted their own celebration with the deliveries—marveling at the contents, trying on new clothing pieces, and popping out of the trunks in surprise.

Bringing Back Wardrobe Trunks

Our inspiration for Rhino Wardrobe Trunks came from those wonderful traveling wardrobe trunks from a bygone era. The year was 1919. The Great War was over. People the world over were starting to travel again, and their preferred piece of luggage was a sturdy wardrobe trunk that would safely and neatly store all the clothing they would need for long journeys. They were iconic companions to traveling stars and performers, and they made a statement wherever they went.

Today, wardrobe trunks are making a huge comeback. People often buy old ones and fix them up for decorative use as interesting storage pieces. But most are too old and too small to actually withstand transportation and hold the belongings of today’s modern traveler. People want more.

Rhino’s USA-made wardrobe trunks are the answer. They come with full-size drawers—the same size drawers as you would have in a dresser at home—mounted on premium drawer slides. The other side, designed for hanging clothes, is wide and deep with a telescoping clothing rod. They are fully lined with armor material for a clean look and added clothing protection. And all of our wardrobe trunks are lockable, ensuring that your belongings stay right where you put them.

As with Beyonce’s adidas x IVY PARK trunk, our Rhino design team can work to develop a custom trunk or case that meets any of your specific requirements. Your trunk or case may be as small as a shoebox or as big as a rhinoceros. Maybe you need specialized hardware, a unique fabric or finish, or a logo, name, or message emblazoned on it. With thousands of fabrics, patterns, and colors, Rhino has what you need. Give us the concept, and we’ll bring it to life.

The possibilities are endless. Click here to learn more about Rhino Wardrobe Trunks.
